Carpet positioning
Carpets can be perfectly used to emphasise individual living areas. Lounge, dining and sleeping areas are visually defined by the appropriate choice of carpet and its correct positioning, and the furniture is expertly accentuated. In the living/lounge area for example, a carpet creates an island of well-being and togetherness, in the dining area a place of communication and (culinary) exchange, and in the sleeping area an oasis of relaxation and replenishment.
The right positioning of a carpet will perfect the overall impression of the colours and design of a room or area. Take advantage of our many years of experience - we are happy to advise you on the ideal carpet size.
For unusual size requirements, we offer made-to-measure carpets.
Here are our recommendations for the individual living areas:
Living room / lounge area
Place the sofa about 20-40 cm on the carpet (in the case of a corner sofa, on both the long and the wide side). An additional armchair, chair or stool should also be placed partly on the carpet.
Most common sizes: 250 x 300 cm, 240 x 305 cm, 200 x 290 cm.
If the sofa is to stand completely on the rug (especially in the case of free-standing seating sets in large rooms), the carpet should protrude about 10-40 cm behind the sofa.
Dining area
Allow a margin of 60 to 90 cm for each chair between its backrest and the edge of the carpet to sit down or stand up.
We also offer most of our by hand carpets as made-to-measure round carpets (link).
Most common sizes: 250x300cm or 240x305cm
Sleeping area
The rug is positioned about halfway under the bed with the longer side. It should protrude about 40-70 cm under the bed on both the left and right sides.
